Catalyzing Economies.

Building Community Wealth.

Too often, promising community development efforts are built as one-time solutions—deeply impactful in a single place, but difficult to sustain or replicate elsewhere. The Verite Foundation approaches community transformation differently. From the outset, every program model we develop is designed to be replicable, durable, and financially sustainable, ensuring that impact can extend beyond one neighborhood or one moment in time.  By balancing flexibility with proven design, communities are able to implement solutions that respond to local needs without reinventing the wheel.

Some models may incorporate real estate or physical spaces as part of their design, while others focus on different pathways to economic stability and ownership. What unites them is a commitment to sustainability, replication, and long-term impact—creating durable pathways to opportunity, prosperity, and community wealth wherever the models are deployed.

City Market: A Restaurant & Retail Third Space + Business Incubator

Salt City Market

Third Space with Incubator

Verite City Markets serve as the place-based component of the Business Elevator model, creating visible economic activity while supporting entrepreneurs and community revitalization.  City Markets reimagine underutilized commercial real estate as community infrastructure.  A mixed-use third space brings together restaurant and beverage outlets, event spaces, gathering areas and more in one public-facing hub.

As the incubator and third-space component of the Business Elevator model, City Market plays a critical role in sustaining wealth building entrepreneurship opportunities and community revitalization. The earned revenue generated through City Market supports the entire Business Elevator program, reducing reliance on ongoing grants while strengthening long-term viability. In doing so, City Market becomes both a marketplace and a mechanism—anchoring neighborhood revitalization and building community wealth that stays rooted where it is created.
